PETERHEAD Peugeot dealership Gillanders has motored ahead with its fundraising to support BBC’s Children in Need – the official charity partner for Peugeot in 2012 – and has surpassed its target of £1,000, in just two months.
Claire Adamson and Ashley Maitland, the based on Blackhouse Industrial Estate dealership’s receptionists, hit the saddle and raised over £470 by taking part in a sponsored cycle from Fraserburgh to Peterhead.
Keen to ‘lose weight & donate,’ General Manager Paul Becci, Aftersales Manager Paul Lang and Group Accounts Manager Linda Muirhead, took part in a slimmer’s challenge and between them managed to lose 49lbs, as well as raising over £300.
The team at Gillanders also raised a further £300 by hosting several cake sales and raffles to raise money for the well-loved charity, which helps disadvantaged children across the UK and another Group Accountant, Graham Leggat, has bravely volunteered to test his pain threshold to the limit and get his chest waxed on the day of the live telethon on Friday 16th November.
Paul Becci said: We’ve been overwhelmed by the goodwill of the fundraisers here at the Dealership and the support from our loyal customers and hope to raise even more money for Children in Need.
“The team is taking the fundraising very seriously but were having lots of fun along the way and have lots planned over the upcoming months – there has been talk of the General Manager sitting in a bath of beans, but the jury’s still out on that one!”
Peugeot UK is an official charity partner of Children in Need.
Gillanders in Peterhead will be helping to raise vital funds for Pudsey and Co alongside the rest of the 250 Peugeot Dealers across the country throughout 2012.
