Peterhead residents will have to club together and raise £3,000 to bring Christmas to the Blue Toon this December.
So far there has been no committee or group formed to take over the Christmas lights in the Toon for the upcoming festive season.
If a group is not formed and the money is not raised then Peterhead will have a black Christmas.
So far Peterhead Projects have agreed to donate a Christmas tree to the cause to be placed in Drummers Corner.
Ken Duncan, Project Development at Peterhead Projects, said: “Peterhead Projects Ltd will definitely be donating a tree from Buchan Meadows for Drummers Corner and we’re also giving a £100 donation to kick-off the lights fund.”
The Buchan Observer will hold a meeting at their offices on Seagate this Wednesday evening at 7pm for anyone wishing to get involved in bringing Christmas to the Toon this year.
Time is now running out to get Toon lit up for 2015 and it will take a community push to make sure Peterhead is not left in the dark this December.
The meeting on Wednesday will also try and put a plan in place for next year so that Peterhead can get the Christmas it deserves.
