A fundraising Stovie Dance night held on Saturday, March 29 at Peterhead’s Palace Hotel has raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Bands and artists who played on the night were Raw Stereo, Lady and the Tramps, Zoe Faulkner, Emma Hogarth and Stuart Duncan, with the amount raised totalling £1232.36.
Event organiser and Raw Stereo band member Marc McMillan said: “Although I was extremely nervous of what to expect, as it was my first time planning an event like this, I think the night went really well.
“People were dancing away to the music and having fun getting their photos taken, what more is there to ask for?
“I’m overwhelmed at the amount raised on the night and I would like to thank everyone who helped make this happen.
“It was great to see friends from my college class play at the beginning, for me to perform with Raw Stereo and then finally being able to have a good time, while my favorite local band Lady and the Tramps performed.
Marc added: “I’d also like to thank the Palace Hotel for allowing us to use the ballroom.
“I would love to plan another event like this for various different charities as it is great to see a community come together to support a good cause.”
Those who attended said: “Briliant night, book another one real soon!” and: “We had a great night, well done for organising it all and the amount raised.”
