A blockbuster second half performance saw Peterhead grab three points and move to within a single point of second place Ayr United.
It was a satisfying day for the Blue Toon and the second half display had all the hallmarks of a side with serious credential.
However they couldn’t have got off to a worse possible start conceding a penalty after just 20 seconds.
Straight from kick off Rovers went on the attack and Scott McBride was sent sprawling by Ally Gilchrist inside a crowded area.
McBride took the spot kick himself sending Graeme Smith the wrong way to give the visitors the perfect start.
Far from lying down, the Blue Toon bounced straight back and levelled after eight minutes via an aerial route.
Kevin Dzierzawski sent a free kick from the left wing into the box, Scott Ross headed on and predator Jamie Redman pounced to nod in from a couple of yards out.
The second half was all Peterhead as they simply swept away a shell shocked Albion side.
They were in front 7 minutes after the re-start. Nicky Riley played a delightful first time pass down the inside left channel for Rory McAllister to run onto and the deadly striker sent the ball wide of the advancing keeper and just inside the far post.
Two minutes later it was game over. A McAllister shot came off the elbow of Mick Dunlop and an award that was perhaps slightly harsh but McAllister showed no sentiment as he casually rolled the ball into the left corner of the net.
The Blue Toon were relentless and after 63 minutes Steven Noble cross found the on fire Shane Sutherland guided the ball into the roof of the net.
Another four minutes later and Rovers were reeling as Sutherland sidefooted his brace from the right side of the penalty area as Peterhead threatened to run riot.
