A report that will reassess the removal of the double yellow lines that have created a “death trap” on Maiden Street is being prepared for committee.
The removal of the lines by Aberdeenshire Council was widely criticised by members of the public but the new proposal which could go before the Buchan Area Committee as early as this month could rectify the situation.
Last year local business owner Askar Ali had said the removal of the lines was “an accident waiting to happen.”
Road user George May had called the road a “death trap” saying: ““Erasing the lines on both sides has frankly turned the area into a death trap.
“I have driven along that street several times since the change and have had to take evasive action too many times.”
