Nine girls from a Peterhead primary school will sing on the BBC’s Christmas Concert to be shown on television this Christmas Eve.
The pupils from Clerkhill Primary School will travel to Aberdeen on November 28 to be filmed singing at St. Machar’s Cathedral.
Destiney Brown, Nicole Simpson, Chloe Summers, Cacey Campbell, Katie Harris, Emma Womersley, Ann Jones, Naomi Stephens and Rebecca West are all P7 students who are being rewarded for their dedication to the Clerkhill school choir over the years.
Naomi said: “I’m excited and really proud of myself that I’ve been chosen.”
Katie said I hope we make the choir proud.”
The girls are appearing on the show thanks to their teacher Ms Lindsay Ritchie, who takes the school choir alongside Ms Marina Smith.
Ann said: “I would like to say a big thank you to Ms Ritchie for letting us come with her.”
Casey said: “I’m really excited about it.”
Emma said: “I’m really excited that I’m going to be on TV and I hope to make the school proud.”
Chloe said: “A big thank you to Ms Ritchie for letting us go with her and I can’t wait to be on TV.”
Nicole said: “I hope we really represent the school and the choir well.”
Rebecca said: “I’m hoping we’ll do the school and choir proud.”
Ann-Louise Murray, Headteacher, said: “It’s a wonderful experience for the girls who have been in the school choir for the last four years.”
