North East Scotland College received two top awards at the College Development Network Marketing Awards in Edinburgh on Wednesday, February 25.
Designed to recognise and celebrate the excellent marketing practice taking place in colleges, North East Scotland College was awarded gold in the Student Award for Best Prospectus category and silver in the Promotional Literature category.
The Gold award was for the College’s 2015/16 prospectus. Chosen by a group of student judges, the NESCol prospectus was deemed the best because it “included all of the information required and made excellent use of pathways options”.
Overall, the judges felt it was “a very good looking piece of work”.
The entry for Promotional Literature was a magazine aimed at senior secondary school pupils - ‘NE SCENE’ - which was produced for use at career events and sent to all secondary schools across the North of Scotland.
Judges felt that the magazine was an excellent, cost effective way to promote the newly merged college across a wide geographical area.
They also praised the accessible format of the magazine which was well-suited to the target audience.
Rhonda Fraser, head of marketing and PR at North East Scotland College said: “We are delighted that our prospectus was named the top prospectus in the country for the second year in a row – particularly so as the category was judged by students.
“We feel extremely proud to have won two awards at the event - all our publications are designed and written in-house and we were up against some of the top agencies in the UK, so well done team!”
