A Peterhead Academy pupil picked up an award at this year’s Young Enterprise Grampian finals event.
Cameron Findlay was awarded ‘Managing Director of the Year’ at the event held on Tuesday, April 26 at the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen Business School.
The young entrepreneur received the inaugural Balmoral cup from one of Aberdeen’s best known entrepreneurs, Jimmy Milne CBE, founder of the Balmoral Group and a keen supporter of young talent, after a one to one interview.
The selected Managing Director and his team Foto Alba which produced jigsaws depicting local scenes, will join Jimmy for an entrepreneurial Board lunch.
Cameron jointly managed Foto Alba with joint Managing Director, Maisie Morrison.
Chairman of Young Enterprise, Neil Marchant of Nexen Petroleum, said: “Well done, Cameron on impressing one of the North-east’s most successful business leaders.
“ We are delighted to introduce the Balmoral cup as part of the Young Enterprise Grampian company programme and hope that it will inspire Cameron to continue to excel in business.”
The Young Enterprise Company programme, which is a registered charity, provides business experience for S5 and S6 pupils where participants run their own company throughout this year long entrepreneurial experience.
The experience is kindly sponsored by oil and gas companies Shell and Nexen.
The six finalist companies were selected from over 30 participating school teams from 21 schools throughout Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
