RGU set to host conference

Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen will host a conference for further and higher education advisors later this month.

The event aims to provide up-to-date information on the sector and changes within the university.

Guidance teachers from secondary schools across Scotland have been invited to go along to the free event, which will be held on Tuesday, May 27.

The conference will see teachers who play a key role in advising pupils about their future careers come together to discuss a variety of topics from entry requirements and personal statement advice to course content and graduate prospects.

Commenting on the conference, RGU education liaison officer, Camilla-Erika Campbell, said: “Post secondary education is high on everyone’s agenda and need for good advice has never been greater.

“The aim of the conference is to provide support and inform each member of staff who plays a key role in advising senior pupils about future careers, education choices and admission.”

This year’s programme will include an update from RGU’s admissions team on entry requirements with a Q&A session.

There will also be as a selection of workshops and presentations on specific subjects of interest from across the university.

The Further and Higher Education Advisors Conference will take place at RGU’s Faculty of Health and Social Care building on Tuesday, May 27.

The event, which will be held from 9.30am to 3.30pm, will also give delegates the opportunity to network with colleagues and pick up additional information.
