Pupils at Clerkhill School and children from Clerkhill Nursery in Peterhead held two fundraising events recently in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The pupils had a ‘dress in green and yellow day’ to mark the colours of the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
Meanwhile the Nursery children held a Macmillan Coffee Morning to which all parents, guardians and family members were invited along to.
A grand total of £773.27 was raised via both events.
On Tuesday, November 25, a group of school pupils and two Nursery children presented the donation to Maureen Simpson, who accepted the cheque on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Speaking to the Buchanie, Maureen said: “We would like to say thank you to all of the boys and girls as well as the staff for raising the money, it was very kind of them all.”
Clerkhill School head teacher, Jonathan Cordiner, said: “It is really important for the school to support local charities and it is fantastic that this money will be kept for use in Peterhead.”
Before accepting the donation, Maureen spoke to the children about where their money will go and who it will help.
