A Boddam nursery is celebrating their results from a recent inspection by Education Scotland after receiving positive feedback.
Buoys and Gulls Nursery was awarded two ‘very good’ and three ‘good’ ratings in the overall judgement by Education Scotland.
Inspectors granted the nursery ‘very good’ ratings for improvements in performance and children’s experiences.
The ‘good’ ratings were for Meeting learning needs, the curriculum and improvement through self-evaluation.
Nursery owner, Suzie Clarke, said: “We are very pleased with the positive response from the Inspectors.
“My staff are worth their weight in gold, I couldn’t run the nursery without them and I appreciate all the work they do.”
Banffshire & Buchan Coast MSP, Stewart Stevenson, has welcomed the Education Scotland report, saying: “I am pleased to see that the hard work of the staff at Buoys and Gulls Nursery has been recognised.
“Inspectors found the children at the nursery to be enthusiastic and making good progress in their learning, which I am delighted to note.
“Education Scotland have also rightly commended the work that staff have put in to nurture a caring environment for the children at the nursery, and create good partnerships with parents.
“I congratulate Buoys and Gulls Nursery on achieving such a positive result, and am sure that the children who attend the nursery will continue to receive a high standard of education.”
Positive notes to come from the report include: “Children in the pre-school room are motivated and excited about learning”, “Children are developing technology, problem-solving, number and interaction skills.” and “Transition arrangements across the nursery are extremely successful with children moving confidently from stage to stage.”
Children at the nursery visit the local library and beach and also help to bake tasty treats for snacktimes.
