The Scottish Maritime Academy in Peterhead is holding an information evening tonight (Wednesday, May 27).
It is aimed at those interested in exploring a career as a Deck Officer within the Merchant Navy.
Clyde Marine Training and the Ship Safe Training Group, who represent some of the top names in shipping, will be on hand to talk through the benefits and application process for this three year sponsored programme which is scheduled to start in September.
The open evening runs from 4pm until 7pm at the Scottish Maritime Academy on South Road in Peterhead.
Applicants must hold a minimum of four National 5 passes, or equivalent, to include Maths, English and a Science subject.
As a sponsored student a training allowance will be provided throughout the training period, which is based in Peterhead with time at sea.
Deck officers are vital members of the ship’s operational team, responsible for navigating ships safely around the world.
This open evening is aimed at school pupils, college students and individuals who are evaluating career paths and considering opportunities within the maritime industry.
