A Peterhead nursery has received the highest grades of any private nursery in the town or surrounding area from inspectors.
Bright Beginnings Nursery on Merchant Street received a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate, following their visit in February.
Owner and manager Samantha Cameron took over the running of the nursery in October 2013, and has undertaken a number of improvements since then.
In the report, Bright Beginnings received two ‘Very Good’ ratings and no “requirements”.
Listing what the nursery does well, the report stated: “Confident and trusting relationships have been established between children, their families and the new provider/manager and staff.”
The nursery, which accepts infants from age 0 to 5, can take up to 32 children at any one time.
Bright Beginnings currently has a waiting list for babies and pre-school children.
As well as a toddler and pre-school area, the nursery also has a messy room and a baby room.
The centre has nine members of staff.
Commenting, nursery owner Samantha Cameron said: “I’m really proud of my staff who have worked really hard to improve the quality of care for the children.
“I’ve put a lot of new procedures in place and they’ve worked really hard with that. They’re very dedicated to the kids.
“We’ve got really committed parents. We now have a Parent-Staff Committee and we’ve done a lot of fund-raising through that committee to allow the children to go on field trips.”
Last week, youngsters from the nursery visited Smugglers Cove in Aberdeen.
