The pupils of Primaries 6 and 7 at Boddam Primary school have been finding out about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child recently.
They discovered that with these rights go responsibilities. In groups they matched up the rights with the corresponding responsibilities.
Following this they found out about the work of UNICEF helping children in Uganda. In groups they then gave a talk, using this information, to the other children in the school, who decided they would all like to help UNICEF’s ‘Day for Change’.
This led to the P6 and 7 pupils organising a fundraising day with the slogan ‘Make a Change with a Bag of Change’.
Everyone in the school brought in change to fill in designs made on the hall floor.
Altogether almost £300 was raised to help UNICEF’s work in Uganda.
P6 and 7 pupils have expressed thanks to everyone who donated to their ‘Day for Change’.
