Councillors have visited Dale Park Primary School to congratulate them on their “excellent” results in a report by the Care Inspectorate.

The school’s nursery received four excellent grades, the highest score possible after an unannounced visit by the Care Inspectorate.

Councillor Charles Buchan, Vice Chair of the Education, Learning and Leisure Committee for Aberdeenshire, said the nursery’s results were “unheard of”.

Cllr Buchan said: “I’m absolutely delighted with this superlative inspection of Dales Park Primary School.

“The Inspectors report is glowing with no negative comments whatsoever.”

The councillor praised the nursery staff for their dedication and the pride they take in their work.

Cllr Buchan said: “It’s a tremendous facility for the whole of Peterhead”.

The Chairman of the Buchan Area Committee Stuart Pratt also visited the school to see the good work the staff do there.

Cllr Pratt said: “To get an Inspectorate report with six excellents on it is unbelievable.

“It’s a fantastic achievement and coming out on top of the increases at Peterhead Academy it shows that we are moving forward across the board.”

The new Head Teacher for Dales Park, Scott Anderson, who was appointed after the inspection was full of praise for his staff.

He said: “I just want to get across how proud I am - this is a fantastic team.”
