The P6 and P6/7 classes of Buchanhaven School hosted a European Enterprise Extravaganza on Thursday, March 19.
Their topic for the term focused on Europe and this culminated in an enterprise morning for parents and family members to attend.
Throughout the morning, children had opportunities to showcase their learning achievements through presentations such as the recitation of Scots Poems and a Highland Dance performance.
Whilst learning about different countries within Europe, the children created memorabilia based on what they had learned and these were sold at the event.
These products were inspired by various artists that they studied, such as Claude Monet, Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso.
The children also baked different foods from countries around Europe, which were also on sale during the event.
One parent commented on the enterprise event: “It was a lovely morning, the children enjoyed doing this and it’s good for their social skills.”
Another parent stated that the topic, “Encompassed such a broad range of knowledge and skills that appealed to both boys and girls.”
This feedback was particularly welcomed and was a great learning experience for the children.
In total, the children raised an outstanding £317.25, however, this would not have been made possible without the overwhelming attendance and support from the children’s parents.
Class teacher Miss Strachan said: “On behalf of all of the pupils, I would like to thank all the parents for coming along to the enterprise morning and helping to make it a great success.”
