Buchan schools celebrate Christmas

Pupils across Buchan got into the Christmas spirit last month by performing in their annual school concerts.

In Peterhead, Dales Park School P4-7 pupils had an ‘Out of This World Christmas’ and told the story of four astronauts and their journeys back home.

On Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 December, Clerkhill School pupils thrilled family and friends with their four outstanding performances of ‘The Stars Come Out At Christmas’.

Pupils from each class performed with great enthusiasm, making the concert a resounding success.

Head teacher Mrs Murray said: “The pupils have certainly done their school and parents proud with their fabulous performance.

“I am very proud of them all and would like to thank all pupils and staff for their hard work in putting together such an amazing concert.

“I would also like to extend my thanks to the Clerkhill School Community for their support over the past year.”

Proceeds from this year’s concert (a fantastic £1,108) will go towards the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

Deborah Bowie, a parent of P2 and P4 pupils said: “I thought the concert was really good, clearly a lot of hard work put in by both staff and pupils.

“I’m also really pleased that money from the concert is being donated to a charity that directly affects pupils in the school.”

Fellow parent Joanna Haggath added: “I loved this year’s concert, it was the best yet! The strength of singing from the children was fantastic but what I enjoyed most was the enthusiasm they all performed with from start to finish.

“To me, it is a reflection of a very happy, thriving school community which I am proud my children are part of and get to experience every day.

“So much hard work from both children and staff to pull together such a seamless, entertaining and impressive performance from over 400 children.”

Meanwhile in Cruden Bay, children at Port Erroll School created artwork based on the 12 Days of Christmas which looked very impressive around the hall.

P1-3 pupils performed Whoops-a-Daisy Angel and P4-7 pupils told the story of Silent Night.
