Pupils and staff at Anna Ritchie School held their annual toast to Scotland’s greatest poet last week.
Hugh Livingston of the Peterhead Burns Club was in attendance to give the “Immortal Memory” speech and he also joined the celebrations.
Traditional fare of haggis, neeps and tatties was served to all with sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
The lunch has been an annual tradition for many years now and Sarah Elphick, who organised the lunch for the second year running, praised the work of all involved.
Speaking to the Buchanie, she said: “Everyone has been fantastic and the kids have really enjoyed themselves.
“Thanks go to all that helped in organising and staging the supper and to all the pupils who have been brilliant and have really excelled themselves.”
Sarah added: “Charlie Burgess has done a great job with the pipes, Scott Thomson has provided a musical melody, and of course a big thanks have to go to the kitchen staff Helen, Karen and Ruth for the food.”
