Nursery to P3 pupils at Dales Park School in Peterhead had a ‘magic’ time learning about road safety recently.

The young pupils were entertained by Allans Magic - professional magicians Alan Innes and Allan Petrie - recently when they were given a presentation on The Magic of Road Safety.

The Magic of Road Safety is a specially designed show to present key road safety messages to children in primary one, two and three in a fun and entertaining way.

The 45 minute show included the use of songs, magic, puppets, dancing and lots of interaction with the children, and the pair had a captive audience as the youngsters sat enthralled.

The show was initially developed with Aberdeen City and Shire and Grampian Police and has been performed to more than 350,000 pupils throughout Scotland & the UK from Wick to London.

Allans Magic presents the show as a “safety entertainment presentation” rather than a magic show and ensures that pupils remember and retain the important messages.

Key messages in the recent show included how to cross the road safely, wearing bright clothing and understanding what to do at pedestrian crossings.

The Magic of Road Safety has also been extended to teach Junior Road Safety Officers how to be entertaining presenters themselves.

Since its inception in 2005 the Magic of Road Safety show has helpedconvey theimportant message to tens of thousands of children throughout the UK and is one ofthe mostsuccessful entertainment presentations ever.
