BUCHAN folk are being encouraged to vote for a young north-east dancer who has reached the semi-finals of Sky One’s Got To Dance show.
Tamara Robertson (10), made the top 28, beating off stiff competition from more than 5,000 others who auditioned for the popular show.
The youngster, who is dance partner of Peterhead’s Mya Linklater (9), will be performing live on Sunday, February 20, at 6pm and the public will get the chance to cast their votes in a live phone-in.
Tamara and Mya attend dance classes in Edinburgh at the Quilietti School of Dance, while their dance teachers also visit Boddam Hall on a Monday night. The girls are in training each night of the week and have had an extremely successful year in competition.
Mya was recently named Dancer of the Year in her age category at a competition in Hartlepool and also picked up an impressive fourth place in the Disco Kids grand finals at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, while for the past four years Tamara has won the UK, European and world disco dancing championships for her age group.
During her auditions for Got To Dance, Tamara was told by Diversity star Ashley Banjo that she was ‘a serious contender’ for the £250,000 Got To Dance prize.
