This year’s Cruden Bay Gala is set to be the biggest one ever spanning over four days from Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, June 15.
Following on from the success of last year’s Gala, organisers have planned extra events with something for all members of the family.
The weekend of events will kick off with a Family Bingo Tea at Port Erroll Primary School.
Entry will be £2.50 for adults and £1 for children, with doors opening at 6.30pm ready for eyes down at 7pm.
There will be two kids discos at the school on Friday, June 13 - the first for nursery children up to P3 (5.30pm to 7pm) with the other for those in P4 up to P7 (7.30pm to 9pm).
Entry will be £3 per child which includes refreshments.
The main Cruden Bay Gala event will take place on Saturday, June 14 at Mill Park from 11am to 3pm.
There will be a number of various stalls hosted by local groups including the church and nursery, a bouncy castle, bucking bronco, bungee run, tug of war, and a barbecue serving up burgers and hotdogs, with candyfloss available for those with a sweet tooth.
There will also be football events with the local children’s football prizegiving to take place on the day.
In the evening, a gala party night will take place at the Kilmarnock Arms with up-and-coming band The Works and The Rebos playing live.
Entry to this event is free and raffles will be available.
The Killie Duck Race will end the weekend of fun on Sunday, June 15.
700 ducks will be ready to race from the bridge outside the Kilmarnock Arms all the way down towards Ladies Bridge.
Those going along are encouraged to bring along a picnic or buy refreshments locally.
The Gala Prince and Princess will be chosen from the entries received at Port Erroll School.
All money raised from the Gala weekend will go towards the Cruden Bay Community Association who plan to use the funds to refurbish the park.
Full programmes will be available nearer the time throughout Cruden Bay.
