A new public services counter was officially opened in Peterhead last week by Police Scotland and partner agencies.

Under the new scheme Police Scotland now has a dedicated public service counter within The council’s HQ at Buchan House. Members of the public can go there for information and assistance.

Public Service Enquiry Assistants (PESAs) are available Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5pm and mirrors the range and access to services that continues to be provided at the police office on Merchant Street.

Chief Inspector Elaine Logue, Area Commander for Aberdeenshire North said: “Having our Public Enquiry Service Assistants based in Buchan House builds on our strong working relationship with Aberdeenshire Council and provides a real opportunity for collaborative working to enhance the service provided to the public.

“Although we do not have police officers stationed within Buchan House, we do have access to Police IT systems within the building, allowing our officers to liaise with key partners in Aberdeenshire Council.

“This day-to-day interaction and close working relationship will only strengthen the work that we can deliver together to the benefit of the Peterhead and Buchan Community.”

Public counter services will continue to be provided from the existing Police Office at Merchant Street in the town outwith the Buchan House office hours and during weekends
