Police in Peterhead will be carrying out increased foot patrols in Peterhead town centre over the festive period in order to prevent anti-social behaviour and retail theft within the town.
The aim of the increased patrols is to ensure the town centre in a safe environment, and to prevent any form of anti-social behaviour.
Sergeant Scott Massie, based at Peterhead, said: "During the festive period the town centre is traditionally busier with people doing their Christmas shopping and enjoying a night out with work colleagues.
"The message I would like to express is that the Police want to ensure that everybody enjoys the festive period but anybody involved in any form of criminality whether it be anti-social behaviour or any form of crime will be dealt with appropriately.
"When we have carried out similar initiatives in the past it has been well received by both retailers and members of the public."
