BUCHAN boat owners and other harbour users are being warned to secure their property following thefts from ports in the area.
Grampian Police are appealing for witnesses after outboard motors and other equipmentwas stolen from Whitehills Harbour overnight on Tuesday, October 9.
Investigating officers want to hear from anyone with information about this crime or who has seen any suspicious people or vehicles in theWhitehills Harbour area.
Crime Reduction Officer for Aberdeenshire, Andy Rankin, said: “Boat owners and those with property or equipment in the harbour areas of Aberdeenshireshould ensure they have adequate security.
“Small items of equipment, including cans of fuel and other portable property, should be locked securely away when not in use.
“Remember that outboard motors are a valuable commodity and should be removed if at all possible.
“It is also important to mark your property to ensure it can be identified as yours.”
