A Country and Western night with singer Paula Macaskill arranged in New Pitsligo recently helped to raise money for a local community group.
An attendee of the Conversation Cafe, Helen Johnstone, organised the event to raise money for the Maud group.
The night was very well attended and everyone had a great night.
All money raised on the night went towards the running of the Conversation Cafe that is held every fortnight at the Old Mart Resource Centre.
Helen headed along to the Conversation Cafe on June 16 to present the cheque donation of £520.
The Cafe was set up to target loneliness in rural areas and to encourage communities to come together to support each other to promote healthier lifestyles both physically and mentally.
It is free to go along to and you get a fine piece and a cuppa - and most of all a good chat!
It runs every fortnight on a Thursday from 9.30am to 12.30pm, for more details please call 01771 613962.
The Cafe has been so successful that a number of other groups are held at the Centre and they include a singing group, reading group, gentle exercise classes , floral art and art group.
