Craigewan Photographic Club’s first competition of the year was an open which was judged by Dennis Russ in Wales.
There were 78 images from 26 members entered and Dennis commented on the very high standard of images he was given to judge which made his job very difficult with a very high number gaining full marks.
In a very tight competition, Charlie Davidson and Malcolm Smith were awarded full marks of 60 from their three images closely followed by William McNeil in second on 58 points and Peter Lewis third on 56.
Last year’s winner Ian Mitchell came in fourth place with 55 points.
Club chairman Peter said: “I was delighted with the amout of new members who entered as this is a way for them to improve their photography with feedback from the judges.”
One of the club’s newest members, Mark Strachan, received 20 points for one of his images.
Craigewan Photographic Club has swelled to 40 members in just over a year and meet in the Buchanhaven Heritage Centre in Ugie Road on a Tuesday evening.
All welcome to come along and find out more information.
