CIC gig at the Palace

A SPECIAL charity gig is being held later this month in Peterhead, in order to raise funds for CIC - Community Integrated Care.

The event will take place at the town’s Palace Hotel on Saturday, February 19, at 7pm, and hopes to raise as much funds as possible for the organisation which provides support for people with learning disabilities throughout Aberdeenshire.

Event organiser Janice Duncan explained: “The organisation provides the support needed to enable people to live independent lives in their own homes.

“CIC believes that every person supported should be treated as an individual with a right to dignity, privacy, choice, respect and inner peace. The individuals in its care include not only the people supported but also their family, carers, friends and loved ones. The importance of these people to the people being supported is recognised and at all times respected.”

Janice said CIC was currently trying to raise funds for the people that it supports, adding: “The group is always looking for sponsors in the area to enable it to provide the people it supports with the little extras we take for granted.”

Providing entertainment for the evening will be Janice’s daughter Holly, well-known locally for her singing abilities.

She will also be joined by Nicole Christie, Stuart Ritchie, Graham Podlesny, Morag Skene and Starlite Disco will complete the evening’s entertainment.

There will be various raffles throughout the evening, with some amazing prizes donated by the skippers from Sustain, Surmount and Ocean Way including a flat screen TV and £200 cash, and those going along will be asked to dig deep for the cause.

For tickets priced at £10 each and further information please contact Janice by email, or by calling CIC on (01771) 643907 or (01346) 512528.
