Peterhead Methodist Church Sisterhood will meet on Wednesday, February 26, at 7.15pm, and the speaker is David Murray. All ladies are welcome.
February 24 to March 9 is Fairtrade Fortnight and the theme for focus is “Abolishing Unfair Bananas”.
On Sunday, March 2, in Peterhead Old Parish Church, morning worship at 11am will be led by the Rev. Fred Coutts.
Peterhead Fishermen’s Mission has its Nightcap Service on Sunday, March 2, at 8pm with community singing from the earlier time of 7.45pm. Being the start of a new month, this will be a Songs of Praise evening.
The Mission Ladies’ Guild will meet on Tuesday, March 4, at 7.15pm and the guest speaker is to be Tom Buchan.
Peterhead Baptist Church Women’s Fellowship are to be having a Gaither-themed Night with guest singer, Mathew James McKay from Gardenstown on Monday, March 3, at 7.30pm. A warm welcome is extended to both men and women to come along.
Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church Guild will meet on Wednesday, March 5, at 7.30pm and this is to be a Guild Night.
Wednesday, March 5, is Ash Wednesday and so the churches in general are brought once again to the start of the season of Lent.
Friday, March 7, is this year’s World Day of Prayer and the theme which has come from Egypt is “Streams in the desert”. Services will be held across our area.
On Sunday, March 2, in Old Deer Church at 10.30am morning worship will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk. Children’s Church will meet as usual and teas will be served afterwards.
On Wednesday, March 5, the Prayer Group meets in the Old Deer Session Room from 6.30-7.15pm and all are welcome.
The Peterhead Festival of Gospel Male Voice Praise will be held in Peterhead Baptist Church, King Street, on Saturday, March 22.
Doors are to be open at 6pm, community singing is to start at 6.30pm and the Festival programme commences at 6.45pm.
The guest speaker for the evening is the Rev. Dr. Jeff Tippner, and a freewill missionary offering will be uplifted. All are welcome.
Looking ahead to the month of April, Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church is again planning to have a Rag Bag collection. The date given is Monday, April 7, from 10am to 4pm and this happens to be the local Spring Holiday.
It may be recalled that last year’s effort was held on behalf of Christian Aid. All donations of unwanted clothing, linen and such like will be appreciated.
