Deer Parish Church Prayer Group is due to meet in Old Deer Church on Wednesday, January 11, from 6.30 to 7.15 pm. The group will continue to meet fortnightly thereafter and all are welcome.

Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church Guild will meet on Wednesday, January 11, at 7.30 pm, when a programme is to be given by the Senior Ladies’ Choir.

The Guild evening following that is on Wednesday, January 25, the occasion being the ever popular Burns’ Supper which starts at the earlier time of 7pm. The programme will be presented by Elaine Silcock and friends.

Peterhead Methodist Church Sisterhood resumes on Wednesday, January 11, at 7.15 pm, with their minister, the Rev. Isobel Akers, as the speaker. All ladies are very welcome.

The Faith Mission has had already in Fraserburgh a time of Prayer for Scotland. A similar meeting is to be held in the Faith Mission Bookshop, Erroll Street, Peterhead, on Saturday, January 14, from 1.30 pm to 4 pm. The invitation is to come and join in that meeting whenever you can for as long as you can.

Peterhead Salvation Army has intimated the following meetings and activities. On Friday, January 13, Planet Kidz Club for those of primary school age 6-7.30 pm; followed that same evening by the Youth Drop-in (secondary school age upwards) from 8-9.30 pm.

Worship on Sunday is at 11 am and 6 pm.

Monday, January 16, at 6.45 pm the Home League which is a Ladies’ Meeting; Wednesday, January 18, at 2.15 pm the Elderly Citizens’ Fellowship and then on Thursday, January 19, Totzone at 10 am and 1pm.

With regard to the last mentioned, there is a waiting list at present. Anyone wishing to have their name added is asked please to contact the Captains on 470208.

On Sunday, January 15, there is morning worship in Old Deer Church commencing at 10.30 am. Everyone is invited and welcome and crèche facilities are available during the service.

In St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church, Old Deer, on Sunday, January 15, the Eucharist will be celebrated at 9.30 am.

Then on Friday, January 20, the St. Drostan friends, along with those from St. John’s, Longside, are welcome to join in the Burns’ Night Celebration arranged by St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Peterhead, commencing at 7 pm.

On Sunday, January 15, morning service in Cruden Parish Church is at 10 am as usual.

The children’s Sunday Club takes place during the morning service and welcomes all children from 3 years upwards.

A warm welcome is extended to join in the Sunday Nightcap held in the Fishermen’s Mission at 8 pm. Sharing the meeting on Sunday, January 15, will be John and Liz McDonald, from the Faith Mission.

Also at the Fishermen’s Mission every Tuesday evening at 7.15 pm there is the meeting of the Ladies’ Guild.

Peterhead Old Parish Church Tuesday Coffee Mornings have started again after the festive break and all support is welcome.

The Senior Ladies’ Fellowship at the Old Parish will meet in the upstairs hall at 2 pm on Monday, January 16. The guest speaker is the Rev. Isobel Akers, minister of Peterhead Methodist Church.

Peterhead Congregational Church Ladies’ Guild resumes on Monday, January 16, at 7.30 pm when they will welcome the Rev. Dr. Abi Ngunga, minister of St. Andrew’s Parish Church, as their guest speaker.

The Old Parish Church Guild is to meet on Wednesday, January 18, at 7.30 pm. This is to be a Scottish Evening with a Soup and Sweet.

The Faith Mission will be having the following New Year Rallies – Footdee Mission Hall, Aberdeen on Thursday, January 19; Peterhead Baptist Church Hall, Friday, January 20; Bethesda Church, Fraserburgh, Saturday, January 21 – all meetings commencing at 7.30 pm.

The speaker is Mr. Viktor Mezger and there will be a time of fellowship, sharing Bible ministry and receiving Mission news. All are welcome.

Cruden Parish Church fund-raising is ongoing for the replacement windows, however, this is being held up because of the delay in the local authority considering the listed building planning application.

The final figure raised by the minister and his wife’s sponsored West Highland Way walk is £3,485. The Ythan Singers Christmas Concert raised £333.40 – many thanks to the Singers for their support. The Christmas Stall raised in the region of £600.

Blythswood Care has given Thursday, January 19, as the date for the charity’s collecting vehicle’s first visit for 2012, calling at the usual places in the Peterhead and district area.
