It’s “Time for Coffee and a Chat” in Cruden Parish Church Hall on Wednesday, December 7, at 10.30 am.

Several of the Peterhead churches have got together to produce an attractive leaflet which intimates their services for Advent and Christmas.

In the Salvation Army, Windmill Street, on Saturday, December 10, at 7 pm, under the heading, “Accents of Advent”, there is a Christmas Concert.

Looking ahead to the following week, on Saturday, December 17, there is the invitation to come and join in the celebration of Jesus’ Birth at the Drummer’s Corner, Peterhead, from 10 am to 3 pm. All are very welcome. This is a joint venture with the various churches sharing in it.

On Saturday, December 10, in Trinity Parish Church, Peterhead, there is to be a Buttery Morning from 10 am-12 noon. This is being held in aid of persecuted Christians in Orissa, India. Tickets are £2.

Morning worship in Old Deer Church on Sunday, December 11, commences at 10.30 am and the service will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk. All are invited and welcome. The Sunday School meets at the same time and crèche facilities are available during the service.

Then later in the day at 7.30 pm in Old Deer Church, there is to be a Service of Prayer and Reflection for Advent and this will be led by Prayer Group members. All are welcome.

Please note there will be no Evening Service held at Fetterangus on Sunday, December 11.

A service of Matins is to be held in St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church, Old Deer, on Sunday, December 11, commencing at 11am.

At St. Kane’s Church, New Deer, on Sunday, December 11, there will be Prayer Time at 10.45 am in Room 2 at the Centre. The morning service in St. Kane’s Church is at 11.30 a.m. on Sunday, December 11. The groups, JAM and Rock Solid, will meet in the Centre that morning at 11.30am. From St. Kane’s comes the announcement that the Cafe will be closed from Friday, December 16, until Monday, January 30, 2012.

On Sunday, December 11, the Ythan Singers will be giving a concert in Cruden Parish Church at 3 pm.

Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church Guild will be in festive mood on Wednesday, December 14, the occasion being their Christmas Party at the Waterside Inn, 6.30 pm for 7 pm, enjoying good food, good companions and the Joy of Christmas itself.

Wednesday, December 14, is also the date of the Peterhead Old Parish Church Guild Christmas Party, the time has been given as 7.30 pm.

The final visit for the year to Peterhead and district by the Blythswood Care collecting vehicle has been arranged for Thursday, December 15. The locations and times are as follows – the former Focus car park, off Catto Drive, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm then, after a call at Crimond around 1.15 pm, the vehicle will be at Fraserburgh Leisure Centre.
