Despite the miserable weather, thousands headed to New Deer’s Craigieford Park at the weekend for the 168th New Deer Show.
Show president, Alan Buchan, was determined to keep the show open, despite the bad weather, with a deluge of rain on the Friday night making it difficult underfoot for visitors and exhibitors.
The standard of cattle and sheep on display at this year’s show was described as “one of the best ever”.
Mr Buchan said: “Through the week was very stressful with all the rain, but you enjoy it when you see the folk here enjoying themselves and having a good time.”
Officially opening this year’s event was local MSP Alex Salmond who praised the “first class” programme of events.
He told the crowd: “The programme this year has been terrific. “
