Buchanhaven Heritage Society is celebrating atter being nominated in the 2015 Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards.
It will join tourism operators across the north-east of Scotland who have been shortlisted for the awards scheme.
The Peterhead society has been nominated in the ‘Everyone’s Business’ category and is up against stiff competition in the form of The Spotty Bag Shop in Banff and the World Horse Welfare at Belwade Farm near Aboyne.
Society chair, Alex Geddes, said: “I am delighted the team and their work has been recognised in such a way and look forward to hearing the outcome of the nomination at the ceremony.
“We have always tried to highlight the beauty of the area as it really is a hidden gem and to be recognised in such a way will now add meaning to our work in the future.
“In addition, our drive to increase tourism to the area supports our aim to improve economic development within the area and links into our community action plan to support local businesses.
“We hope now this nomination has been made this will showcase the area as never before,” he added.
