Peterhead Port Authority has announced the promotion of Stephen Paterson to deputy chief executive and chief financial officer and the recruitment of Capt George Reid as senior assistant harbour naster.
The appointments come at an important time as the business seeks to finalise plans for a £47m development of the harbours which is necessary to build on recent success and secure Peterhead’s position as the leading fishing port in the UK.
Commenting, chief executive John Wallace said Capt. Reid’s appointment was were timely to support the marine department’s ongoing and burgeoning workload, while it was encouraging that the board sought to reward and recognise Mr Paterson’s ‘sterling’ service at the port over the years.
“With the future major capitol works programmed this year and next, these appointment will help to continue to provide our stakeholders with a high level of attention while ensuring port operations are efficiently and effectively responded to,” he added.
