Preparations begin for Offshore Europe

Preparations for one of the most important international events in the energy sector calendar have begun.

More than 63,000 delegates from across the globe are expected to attend Offshore Europe 2015 which will take place between September 8 and 11 at the AECC in Aberdeen.

The biennial exhibition and conference is the largest exploration and production event outside North America with more than 1,500 exhibitors in 2013.

Aberdeenshire Council, in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, has secured a prime spot at the exhibition to promote the north-east as an area of expertise and innovation in the energy sector.

Chairman of Aberdeenshire Council’s policy and resourcescommittee, Cllr Jim Gifford, said: “The exhibition stand will provide a high-profile platform to emphasis the key role Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire-based companies perform in the energy supply chain.

“This will include Westhill, acknowledged as the global centre of excellence in subsea engineering and the establishment of a carbon capture and storage cluster in Peterhead.”

Vice-chair of the committee, Councillor Martin Kitts-Hayes, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for firms based in the north-east to showcase their products and services to both existing and emerging markets. As a hub of activity for oil and gas, Offshore Europe attracts top executives and decision-makers from international companies, giving local businesses a chance to promote their brand to world-class leaders in their field.”

The exhibition space is two storeys high, with exhibition space on the ground floor and a lounge and presentation area on the first floor.

Recruiting for exhibitors on the pavilion will begin shortly. Interested companies are invited to get in touch and register their details now.
