A local man is preparing to cycle nearly 200 miles from the West Coast of Scotland to Boddam all in the name of charity.

Paul Jennings will begin his solo journey from Rubha Reidh Lighthouse to Boddam Lighthouse on Tuesday, September 10 and hopes to complete it in just four days.

Paul is taking on the challenge to raise funds forAberdeenshire North Epilepsy Fieldwork.

Paul currently works at Timpsons on Queen Street but manages to find time to get some practice in as he said: “All my spare hours go towards training and I go back and forth on the bike.

Keen cyclist Paul saidhe enjoys riding on two wheels because: “I am looking forward to it, I’m just hoping to get my fitness levels up and praying for good weather. If there has to be gale force winds, hopefully they are behind me!”

His fundraising target is £1000 but already sponsorships have totalled up to £800, though more are being welcomed: “It would be all better if I could double the target.”

Paul added: “I would like to thank everyone for their donations so far.”
