Following last year’s hugely successful sell-out production of Sleeping Beauty, Peterhead Panto Group are preparing for this year’s show.

The group decided the annual panto needed a fresh take so decided to write their script and lyrics to songs with the story and characters all based in Peterhead with lots of doric comedy and local references intertwined.

Following this success, this year’s production will be written by Alasdair Corbett and Gillian Park, and will be a doric version of the classic tale Cinderella, with a few wee surprises to look forward to.

The story will once again be set in Peterhead, centred around a famous Blue Toon event and will run from Saturday 7 to Saturday 14 December.

The group are holding auditions for those interested in taking to the stage.

Principal auditions will take place on Wednesday, 21 August at 6.30pm in Peterhead Community Theatre with callbacks, if necessary, on Thursday, August 22.

Auditionees must be at least 15-years-old.

Chorus auditions will be held on Sunday, August 25 at the Community Theatre.

Those wishing to audition must register online for a time slot.

Online registration will be open on Wednesday, August 21 at 8am and will close on Friday, August 23 at 6pm.
