A PETERHEAD publican and his punters were stunned to see Celtic boss Neil Lennon walk into their midst recently.
The night before his SPL side took on Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium, Lennon and some of his coaching staff popped into Bailie’s on the town’s Broad Street to watch the Aston Villa v Bristol Rovers clash. To owner Raymond Matthew’s delight the Parkhead legend chatted happily with customers - patiently posing for pictures and shaking hands with delighted locals.
Raymond (pictured right) said: “He was the perfect gentleman - he came in to watch the football but he didn’t seem annoyed about getting all the attention.”
Within minutes of Lennon’s arrival on the Saturday night social networking sites played their part to attract a wealth of local folk to the bar, eager to see the Celtic manager.
