A major Peterhead employer has announced that it will enter a consultation process regarding potential redundancies at the company.
Score (Europe) Limited is anticipating the loss of around 60 posts from its UK facilities - though the majority of the redundancies will be made in Scotland.
Conrad Ritchie, managing director of Score (Europe) Limited, said: “Despite internal restructuring, successful business diversification, contract wins and efficiency drives over the past 18-month period a larger redundancy programme has regretfully become unavoidable.
“This is primarily due to the continued low oil price and industry downturn which has had a major impact upon the sectors in which we operate.
“The workforce were advised last week of the potential redundancies.
“The eventual loss of 60 posts is anticipated.
‘‘This will affect personnel UK-wide.
‘‘However, the majority of redundancies are likely to be in Scotland.”
Mr Ritchie was keen to stress that there would be no redundancies within their Modern Apprenticeship program.
He said: “Score Group continues to pride itself on the multi -award-winning training and development that it offers and delivers globally to future generations.
‘‘Our commitment in this regard is guaranteed and will continue.”
Score Group saw an 82% drop in profits earlier this year.
