A Familiar Blue Toon face is bidding farewell as he begins his retirement.
Gordon Hay, senior partner of Stewart and Watson in Peterhead, is retiring after 34 years.
Gordon first began working with the company at their Turriff office in May 1978, but after one year, moved to Peterhead where he has been based, and in charge, since.
Gordon said: “I am looking forward to having more time to myself but I will miss dealing with customers, meeting people and solving their problems.”
Speaking about the changes he has seen over the years, Gordon said: “The main change has been the move from a family solicitor who did everything, known as the Man o’ Business, to a more specialism approach, where more people deal with different aspects of the law.
“It is now impossible for one person to deal with all aspects of the law. There is also a huge increase in bureaucracy in carrying out the simplest task.”
Gordon is looking forward to working in his four acre garden at Longside, engaging in musical matters and spending more time with his family.
Gordon is also working on the Doric Old Testament which is following on from the Doric New Testament which he released last year.
