The Northern Lighthouse Board has put a detached former store/workshop near Rattray Head Lighthouse Cottages up for sale.

The single detached stone building, located within the Loch of Strathbeg SSI, has an asking price of offers over £20,000, with the sellers saying the building has a range of potential storage, leisure or residental uses, subject to consents.

The building was formerly in use as a tractor store by the Northern Lighthouse Board and is set within a rectangular plot with a total area of 315sq m.

It is constructed of stone with a painted render finish and a flat roof supported by steel girders and a vaulted ceiling.

The internal space is separated into two rooms and are finished to a shell standard with painted render walls and a concrete floor.

The property has mains electricity supply and there is mains water supply via a private pipe through a neighbouring estate, although there is no warranty or guarantee over the water’s usability.

The closing date for offers is midday on Friday, June 28 and prospective buyers are asked to register interest with selling agents DTZ of Edinburgh, prior to this date.
