Staff at Peterhead’s West End Bar and Voodoo Lounge have said one last farewell as the popular venue closed its doors for the last time on Saturday, April 25.
Ruth Drummond spoke to the Buchanie about the shock closure and said everyone at the bar is unsure about its future.
She said: “We don’t have a new location at the moment but our boss is looking.
“A lot of people are shocked about this as it has been open for many years and a lot of people have good memories here.
“Our customers are upset and angry, there was a petition going around to try and keep the bar open.”
Staff at the West End Bar held a large farewell party on Saturday, April 25, and Ruth said it couldn’t have ended on a better note as she explained: “The place was at maximum capacity and at one point we had 13 bar staff on to serve everyone - even then people were complaining that they weren’t getting served!
“It was an emotional night for all the staff but there was a great atmosphere and everyone gave it the send off it needed, that’s for sure.”
Ruth added: “We would like to thank all of our customers over the years and I would like to thank my staff, DJs, and Kenneth Watt for his support.”
Members of staff at the bar have managed to find jobs at other establishments within Peterhead.
