The Banff and Buchan Vintage Tractor and Engine Club held their annual Ploughing match at Easter Cradno Memsie on Saturday, October 26 by kind permission of the Campbell family.
Conditions were perfect on the day and there were a wide range of vintage and classic Tractors and ploughs at work.
Judges, A Cowie and W Ross, had a hard task and Elaine Campbell presented the prizes.
Results are as follows:
The Bill Gavin Cup for Best Double Furrow Ploughman went to Davie Gibb, Derek Morrison was second and George Davidson was third.
The Eric Malarkey Cup for The Best Trailing Ploughman was won by Raymond Turriff.
Rob Paterson was first in the single furrow class and Michael Massie the three furrow class.
The Cowie Family shield for the Best Opening was awarded to Davie Gibb and the Champion Ploughman overall was Rob Paterson.
Scot Campbell and his two sons, Ryan and Jack, had great fun picking the Best Outfit and decided to present the cup to Jock Donald with his Caterpillar and trailing plough.
A total of £600 was raised and will be presented to the new Crimond Medical Centre at the request of the Campbell family.
The organisers would like to thank The Fraserburgh Vintage Car Rally for their support and the companies and members that provided prizes and raffles.
They would also like to express a sincere thank you to friends and members that helped to make the day a big success.
