It’s finally back to business for Peterhead’s Chapel Street with the first retail unit of the new development now open for business.
Hotel chain Travelodge has also announced that its new Blue Toon hotel will open early next year.
A Travelodge Spokesperson said:”We are very excited to be opening the first branded value hotel in Peterhead town centre in early 2017.
“Peterhead Travelodge is a new-build hotel with 63-rooms over four floors.
“It is designed in Travelodge’s new contemporary brand design and features the company’s new modern room concept. Rooms will be available from £29. The hotel also has a Bar Cafe where customers can enjoy a breakfast, dinner and bar menu.
“The hotel will also offer Travelodge’s new best ever hot breakfast menu.”
Meanwhile, the first retail unit to open at the Chapel Street development is boutique clothing store Bowbell.
The shop opened on Thursday, September 29, and stocks a wide range of clothing and accessories for women.
Speaking to the Buchanie shop manager Lynn Marr said: “This is the first time I have owned my own business and it has been going really well so far.
“I thought that the town needed something like this so the opportunity came up and I decided to go for it.
“I had been looking for the right location for a while and then this came up so I went for it and got it ready to open as soon as I could.”
The Buchanie understands that a convenience store, possibly supplied by Costcutter, will reopen next to the Apex Church in the next week, while the former Micromovies shop will form part of the new Travelodge hotel.
