German supermarket giant Aldi have announced that work will begin on the site of its new Peterhead store next year.
Plans for the store, to be located on the former Kirkburn Mill site, were given the go-ahead by the Buchan Area Committee back in February.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “Plans for our new store in Peterhead are progressing and we are due to start on site next year.
“We are looking forward to making Aldi’s award-winning offer easily accessible for shoppers in the area and will keep the local community updated.”
The new supermarket will bring around 35 new jobs to Peterhead and it is hoped that the development will bring more shoppers to the town centre.
