A local support worker has been named a finalist in this year’s Scottish Health Awards.
Jenny Mundie, who is based at Peterhead’s Ugie Hospital, is a finalist in the ‘Support Worker’ category.
She has worked with Older Adult Mental Health for eight years, helping to integrate people into the community and address their healthy lifestyles.
Speaking to the Buchanie, Jenny said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be nominated and to get to the finals, I did not expect that.
“I’m going on holiday so unfortunately I won’t be able to go to the awards ceremony.
“I’m really disappointed that I can’t go but my fellow team members Eleanor McNiven, Alison Spencer and Christina Kennedy will go along in my place.”
Jenny added: “I would like to thank my team and our managers as they give me lots of encouragement and there is a lot of trust.”
Although Jenny is based in Peterhead she visits patients across Buchan including Mintlaw, Hatton and Cruden Bay.
The Scottish Health Awards are run by the Daily Record in partnership with NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government, and will be held on Thursday, November 3 in Edinburgh.
