Buchan services and activities

There is to be a carol service in the Peterhead Fishermen’s Mission on Saturday, December 22, commencing at 7pm. The Kedron Choir will be taking part and refreshments are to be served afterwards.

Cruden Parish Church Christmas Family Service will take place on Sunday, December 23, at 10am.

The Watchnight Service is on Monday, December 24, at 11.30pm. The Church will be open from 11.05pm for carol singing.

The Christmas Day Service is on Tuesday, December 25, at 10am. The children are invited to bring along one of their presents!

In St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church, Old Deer, on Sunday, December 23, there will be Extended Communion and Christingle services commencing at 11am.

On Christmas Eve, December 24, there is the Blessing of the Crib in St. John’s, Longside, at 6pm and a carol service will be held in St. Peter’s Church, Merchant Street, Peterhead, commencing at 11.30pm.

There is to be a Christmas Day Service in St. John’s Church at 10am. No service will be held in St. Drostan’s itself.

Morning worship at 10.30am in Old Deer Church on Sunday, December 23, will take the form of a Christmas Family Service led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk. Included will be the Sunday School nativity story. Crèche facilities are available during the service and teas are to be served afterwards. All are welcome.

Later that same day at 4pm in Fetterangus Church there is a service which will be joined by the choir who will perform some of the seasonal pieces which they have been practising. The Praise Worship service will have an Advent theme. Teas will be served afterwards. Again all are welcome.

On Monday, December 24, in Old Deer Church there is to be a service at 11pm beginning with congregational carol singing led by the choir before the Watchnight Service at 11.30pm.

On Tuesday, December 25, a Christmas Morning service commencing at 10.30am will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk.

The Deer Parish Church Prayer Group meets in Old Deer Church on Wednesday, December 26, from 6.30-7.15pm.

St. Fergus Parish Church is having a special Family Service on Sunday, December 23, at the usual time of 10.15am when the children will be taking part. Tea, coffee and mincemeat pies will be served after the service.

There will be a service on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24, starting at 7.30pm. A number of carols and Bible readings will be featured. Refreshments are to be served afterwards and no doubt these will again be enjoyed by all.

St. Kane’s Church, New Deer, is to be having an All-Age Christmas Service on Sunday, December 23, at 11.30am.

On Monday, December 24, at 7pm, the Praise Band will lead a time of lessons and carols.

On Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25, there will be a short Family Gathering Service at 11am lasting for about 30 minutes with music by Jennifer McColl and Dawn Maclellen.

Peterhead Baptist Church Senior Citizens’ Fellowship will meet on Thursday, December 20, at 2.15pm to celebrate the birth of the Christ Child with the Kedron Choir.

Boddam Evangelical Church will host its Christmas Eve Service on Monday, December 24 from 7.30pm, followed by tea.
