Local historian Derek Jennings recently took part in a TV documentary for Director Patricia Macleod of Midas Media for BBC ALBA about Gaelic in Aberdeenshire.
Filmed at the Book of Deer Visitor Centre at Aden Country Park and the Grave yard of Old Deer Parish church, the programme was a one-hour documentary hooked on the 25th anniversary of Gaelic-medium education in Aberdeen.
Derek and Alan Cameron, past chairman of the Book of Deer Project, talked about the Gaelic and the Archaeology of Deer.
The interview included the search for the location of the Celtic Monastery of Deer, how they approached it and the importance of the Book of Deer.
Patricia said she would like to help in the quest to try to get the Book of Deer back to the north east for a display whether temporary or permanent, and hopes the documentary will help raise awareness.”
