Diane and Britt from Balance Budz are celebrating a year in business this month and are marking the occasion by holding an anniversary party at Peterhead’s Trinity Church on Saturday, April 20, at 11am for family, friends and clients.

Diane says: “We started with one exercise class and today we have eight classes per week and over 90 clients. It has been an amazing year and we now have taken on one-to-one assessment and treatment sessions for anyone looking for individualised physiotherapy input.”

Britt adds: “It was hard work but it has been well worth it. We overcame many hurdles but we got there in the end and we are happy to be delivering this service to the people of Peterhead.”

The celebration will include speakers from occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and dietetics. There will be advice tables for all health, well-being and exercise questions. Fitness, balance, weight and BMI can also be checked on the day.

The best part of the celebration is the food, fun and social interaction.

As part of the event Diane and Britt will also be raising money for Epilepsy Action.

Diane’s son Dean was diagnosed with epilepsy earlier this year after 18 months of ill health. Dean’s life has dramatically changed due to this incredibly complex condition.

The most difficult thing was losing his driving licence having passed his test for only a month.

Diane and Britt felt compelled to raise money for the charity and are running the Edinburgh Half Marathon with Diane’s partner Robbie and her son Dean in May this year.

So far they have raised nearly £800 but need more cash for this great cause. At the anniversary event, Robbie will sell homemade toffee for £2 per bag.

Everyone willing can pay £1 to get their health checked and there will also be an Epilepsy Action cash bucket for donations.

Helen, one of the Balance Budz ladies, is also onboard making up a pamper hamper Raffle, while Diane will also treat the ladies at Inverugie Court to a mini makeover on April 23 and 27.

The ladies will enjoy getting a cut and blow dry and their nails filed, buffed and polished for just £10. If anyone would like to donate go online to:
