A group of local youngsters have recently completed the Peterhead Rotary Young Achievers Awards 2014.
The project gives young people the opportunity to take on various types of activities, for example they may be young carers who cannot find the time or youths who feel they need to prove themselves and gain confidence.
The project gives 12 teenagers a chance to get acquainted with the outdoors and challenges them to achieve six targets including a climb/abseil, mountain biking, canoeing, skiing, hill walking and mountain rescue.
The youngsters received a certificate of achievement for each task they completed.
They participated in skiing activities in February, took part in a Mountain Rescue Course in March and completed a four-dayAdventure Trip in April where they did some canoeing, mountain biking, abseiling and hill walking.
The Peterhead Rotary Club set up a five man working committee to serve the project and two members were present at all times during tasks.
Rotary members also raised money, tried to obtain free equipment and clothing, and supplied transport.
Thanks go to the various businesses and individuals for all of their help and support.
