The Friends of Aden Country Park are looking for more volunteers to help out in the Aden Craft & Gift Shop.

With summer on the way, the Friends want to open the Aden Shop for longer hours.

Currently the shop shuts at 3pm, Monday to Friday, and that’s just when the park starts to get busy.

Aden development worker Neil Shirran explained: “The Friends are looking for friendly folk that would like an opportunity to help the community group to run the Aden Craft & Gift Shop.

“It doesn’t matter if you have worked in a shop before as training and support will be available and there are always at least two volunteers on hand to lend some support.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone trying to find employment in the retail trade, providing an opportunity to gain experience, learn new skills, and improve your CV.

“It is also a great opportunity to meet some like-minded people, or simply as an excuse to get out of the house. Time spent in the shop is rewarding, fun and the company is good. Young, or not so young, there is a place for you in the shop.”

The extended opening hours would be between 3pm and 6pm, Monday to Friday, throughout the summer season.

“In addition we would also be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to help out at weekends,” said Neil.

“So if you are free a few hours a week, a lot of hours a week, or a few hours per month please get in touch for a chat.”
